Sign Me Simpatico

Kelley and I were on our honeymoon in Cozumel.. Kelley drank some “special” tequila at a little café one night and when she woke up the next morning this chorus was written in soap on the hotel’s bathroom mirror… spooky!

“Sign Me Simpatico”

(on the same wavelength)

They come as brides in December with their grooms by the sea

Taking one week to remember seven days eternally.

They come from L.A. and Atlanta to this isle in the Blue Caribbe

To where the nights meet black coral making honeymooners memories.

Two people together are an angel’s choir when hearts are at stake

But a soul alone is a cry from afar like a salty ocean wave that breaks.

Chorus:    Oh oh island of passion you bind me no more

For the truth now I know

You’re where the lonely go

Sign me Simpatico

There are lovers in the moonlight their silhouettes embraced

Yet cheap beer is just a fool’s device that numbs the blues away

You see the writing on the great sea wall the poetry on the pier

Those who heed a seagull’s call but miss the singer’s voice they hear

Repeat chorus

They come as brides in December with their grooms by the sea

Taking one week to remember seven days eternally.
